Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, has been honored with the 2023 International Center for Responsible Tourism (ICRT), India Foundation Responsible Tourism Award in the category of ‘Best for Tackling Plastic Waste”.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Gaurav Pokhariyal, Executive Vice President – Human Resources, IHCL, said, “This award is a recognition for IHCL’s comprehensive ESG+ framework of Paathya that drives the company’s sustainability and social impact measures. It is a testament to our commitment to promoting environmental stewardship and responsible tourism.”
IHCL’s journey towards this award has been marked by a series of measures aimed at combating plastic waste. These initiatives include phasing out single-use plastic from all our hotels, elimination of plastic straws, introducing bottling plants, and initiating Zero-single use plastic hotels in the country.
